The main difference between gold and silver is that gold is held by almost any country as a stabilization device for their currency. Therefore, gold has a special status; governments tend to keep the gold price stable or influence it by holding or selling deposits. Furthermore, gold is treated differently for taxation, being tax free in many countries. In the case of silver in some places the buyer has to pay taxes when purchasing silver - an amount that will be lost when selling. As gold is a good and reliable form of investment, and there is still a huge price difference between gold and silver, it could be questionable if silver really could become an efficient investment to return profit. The key is in how much silver and gold will be available in the future, and therefore if increasing silver and gold prices could retain the same relationship as today.

OK. Gold and Silver used to be very close in value - in fact at times in the 19th Century Silver was actually scarcer and therefore more valuable than Gold. Now Silver and Gold have a huge difference in value at the present time, so for this reason it would seem that silver is undervalued, and hence the reason why people have finally started to invest in it again, and Gold of course has stopped going up and look like it has just stabilised.

The capital aberration amid gold and argent is that gold is captivated by about any country as a stabilization accessory for their currency. As gold is a acceptable and reliable anatomy of investment, and there is still a huge amount aberration amid gold and silver, it could be ambiguous if argent absolutely could become an able investment to acknowledgment profit.

If you’re tired of losing money in equities then you need to start hedging your assets to protect your families wealth. The United States is in its worst economic time period . since the Great Depression. Unemployment is at near record levels with little hope on a recovery in the near future. I am not a gold bug.  I like silver.  It's more volatile, but it seems to go up generally.  I like the numismatic silver, because it gets a premium over the silver price eventually.  For example walking liberties were one of the common coins that were sold as "junk silver", but now command a premium over Franklins for example.  I think it makes sense to buy what I call "mildly numismatic" coins and wait a bit for them to be worth putting in paper and plastic cases and sold for more than what you would get for them as silver.

Gold coins seem to sell for the gold price no matter what year they are from.  I don't like buying them as much because they are pretty, but as I said I am not a gold bug.

You can also buy silver certificate instead of physical silver. It is also another form of investment which allow investors to buy and sell the silver without the hassle of actual transfer/delivery of physical silver.

Investment demand for precious metals will take over in any case from industrial demand. And once the gold price heads up then silver will follow. You get 50 times more silver for your money than gold.
