The Clifton Rodenburg Collection

Our October Dallas Signature Auction is scheduled for October 24-26 in our Dallas Headquarters, and we pleased to feature The Clifton Rodenburg Collection as one of our anchor collections for this auction. Mr. Rodenburg has assembled an outstanding grouping of ten dollar gold coins, including a nearly complete collection of Indian Head eagles. The key date 1913-S and 1930-S coins are fully MS64 in quality, as are his two examples of the 1907 Wire Edge Eagle. Not as complete, but every bit as impressive are his Liberty eagle offerings, which include an AU58 coin dated 1858-S - unknown in any Mint State grade - and the very rare 1870-CC.

Mr. Rodenburg did not limit himself to eagles, however. His remaining selections cover the range of numismatic offerings and include quite a number of desirable Carson City coins. We invite you to take a look at some of the highlights of his collection, which include:

This outstanding collection, along with the rest of the October Dallas Signature Auction, will open for bidding soon at www.HeritageAuctions.com/Coins.

See, there is the 1863 $5 half eagle I just bought!!  Except mine is cleaned and rims filed. Its kinda pretty with excellent detail. But the point is the rarity......very few pieces exist in any grade. I could never afford a high end piece, but I do have an authentic coin with true rarity. see my photo and discussion string in main forum.
I actually used that sale in Heritage as a bit of a gauge how high I would bid for the cleaned offering I now have!
