It is exactly the same size and composition as the Sacagawea Dollar.
Both coins will be minted and released into circulation beginning early next year.

Are these going to actually circulate? Sacs never really circulated so they are kind of useless

The government will run a 60 million dollar campaign promoting the new Presidential dollar and the Sac dollar beginning in Jan.
They spent 40 million promoting the Sac dollar in 2000 and yet it failed.
Until we stop producing the dollar bill, NO dollar coin will make it in daily transactions.

I actually prefer spending sac's over dollar bills. I love going to Japan where they actually have a $5 coin as well and it is smaller or at least lighter than our sac dollar. The government needs to take a few lessons from other countriies, everyone uses $1, and $5 coins in Japan.
