    Posted: 20 Aug 2011 at 3:53pm
I just tried to spend a 1950 star note, and the person working at the gas station refused to accept it because he believed it was a valuable bill.  Does anyone know the approximate value of it?

1950 D Star note.  The Image on the front appears to be off-centered, as if improperly cut.  It is in decent condition, creased down the middle but not faded or wrinkled.

Any information would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Depending upon the condition (I know you listed a bit about it), it's probably worth somewhere around $10. Star notes from some of the other districts for that series are worth more. If the face is offcenter enough to be considered an error, it would be worth a bit more than $10- perhaps $20 to $30. Since I haven't seen the note in person, the values I'm listing are approximate.
